Statistics appear not to work

I have successfully sent a large number of messages however, I never seem to get any sent stats...
Open, ClickThru stats and "generated" stats work... however no matter what "sent" stats always show 0... is there any pointers on where I should be looking here?
OpenEMM 5.0.2 Gentoo, installed from binary tarball. SendMail configs adjusted as required. /var/log/maillog is readable but the openemm user (and everyone else for that matter)
