Error when creating new recipient

Post by qsthensel »

Hello,

I am using OpenEMM 6.2 on an Ubuntu Linux 10.4 64bit

Everything seems to work but:

When I create a new recipient aftter inserting the required data like name, mail-adresse and so on when I click on save I get the following message:

An error occurred

Cause:

javax.servlet.ServletException: java.lang.NullPointerException: getAttribute must have a non-null name

The Error is only showed in Firefox. In IE I get a "Website cannot be displayed".

When I go backwards to the mainsite of the webgui and then let me show the list of recipients the user I tried to create was created.
This is a workaround but this error message seems not to be right.

Any hints for solution would be nice

Greetings!

How on earth did you get IE running on Ubuntu 64 bit?

I see, you use Ubuntu AND Windows (and I thought Ubuntu makes Windows superfluous ...). Can you reproduce this behaviour? If so, could you post the data you used to create this bug (because I can not reproduce)?

Hi, I got the same error.
I am using ubuntu 10.10 32 bit, and i installed openemm 6.2.
When i am trying to add a new recipient, i got : javax.servlet.ServletException: java.lang.NullPointerException: getAttribute must have a non-null name.
Do someone knows how to fix this.

Thanks

Do you have a stack trace for me from the log?

And another question: Did you upgrade (if so, from which version) or is it a new installation with a clean database?

Sorry, I did not see you replied that quickly. I haven't look onto the log, but it's a new installation on a clean database.

Looking at the log, the file /var/log/mail.log i got :
Jan 19 04:01:01 mailing sm-msp-queue[438]: unable to qualify my own domain name (mailing) -- using short name
With mailing as my server's name.
With that, do you have an idea of where it's comming from?

sorry for the late reply.
For me I can say that it works now.
I could reproduce the error several times on different machines and browsers but from one day to another it worked on all of them.
Seems to be magic - black magic :)

Sorry, I could not reproduce the problem - neither with a clean nor with an existing database.

I think i don't have anymore the problem.
I think it were comming from that i hadn't created a mailing list yet, because after creating one the problem desapeared.

Thanks
