Same situation here. OpenEMM was installed according to the Installation Docs. Local sendmail is available. Servlet containers, db, etc.

Test / Admin only mail messages are generated and send with out a problem. But if I try to submit a message to all mailing list members nothing happens. Seems that the mails are not transfered to sendmail?

Thanks in advance for any hints!

Not here either (using VMWare package)

Post by jbayer »

I am using the VMWare package as supplied on the web site. I modified the image the following ways:

1. I changed the keyboard to a US keyboard
2. I changed the timezone it was in to US-Eastern
3. I modified the sendmail.c file to use a local smarthost.

I have two problems, they may be related:

First, when I schedule a time to send out a mailing (for example, 9PM), when displays the scheduled time it is 3 hours later than I specified.

Second, after scheduling a mailing, nothing happens. No messages are generated, and none are sent out.

Any ideas?

distribution?

Could you plase specify the Linux distribution and version you are using? Between RedHat, Suse and Debian there are big differences (especially regarding the sendmail implementation).

For Debian please make sure to

chmod 644 /var/log/maillog

(see also wiki docs at http://www.openemm.org/wiki)

Thank you!

And which platform is the VMware running on? (I know, should not make a difference, but sometimes it does)

Delivery delay for 3 hours

Post by natalie »

I'm testing OpenEMM 5.0.2 on Slackware 11.
I tried a couple of times to send a newsltter to 4 email addresses and it work.

But later then, when i send the 6th mailing, the delivery delays for 3 hours, i didn't change config of openemm and sendmail, any direction for me to solve it ? What i need to provide ? Thanks a lot.
