bav.sock missing

We are having an issue with OpenEMM 6.0 on CentOS 5.

When we start OpenEMM, we get an error that bav.sock is missing:

Starting sendmails: listener WARNING: Xbav: local socket name /home/openemm/var/run/bav.sock missing
client queue clientmqueue admin queue mail queue done.

We have checked the following:

1) We have all the domains and forwarding set-up properly:
Hostname: lists.xxx.com (A & PTR record exist)
Sender: list.xxx.com (A & MX record exist) *** Notice the missing "s"

2) Sendmail is configured with the following at the end of the sendmail.mc:
INPUT_MAIL_FILTER(`bav', `S=unix:/home/openemm/var/run/bav.sock, F=T')dnl

3) mailertable is set-up with the appropriate domain:
list.xxx.com procmail:/home/openemm/conf/bav/bav.rc

4) Relay domains contains:
list.xxx.com

5) bav.conf-local exists with the following:
news@list.xxx.com alias:ext_1@list.xxx.com

I've restarted everything, machine, OpenEMM, and sendmail.

Any help would be appreciated.

Yesterday we did an upgrade from v. 5.5.1 to v. 6.0.1. After that we got the same error:

Starting sendmails: listener WARNING: Xbav: local socket name /home/openemm/var/run/bav.sock missing
client queue clientmqueue admin queue mail queue done

System is CentOS 5.3

Having a very similar problem, i'm not getting a bav.sock file so sendmail is kicking off. I've checked over the permissions as reported in other threads but still have the same problem :(

Well, since OpenEMM uses relative paths, change to user openemm and enter just "cd" (to change to the home directory of OpenEMM) before starting OpenEMM.

Yes, I added a note in the install guide because it was not clear about the directory you have to be in when launching OpenEMM.

Dear agnitas...

Please change the binary of bav.... so that it is possible to specify the path of the socket of bav.

IT SEEMS to BE hardcoded in binary what a shame...

If you start ./bin/bav it will tell you that the socket does not exist. According to the sendmail log entry it will take some time to find out.

Since we provide the source code and a build script on SourceForge you can modify the source code anytime by yourself.
