OpenEMM with CentOS fails in a Hyper-V Guest (Win 2016)

Post by JuergenB »

Hi,

i tried several installations with OpenEMM 2019 and CentOS 7 in a Hyper-V Guest (Windows 2016 Datacenter).

OpenEMM fails after starting the installer (no matter if the VM is Gen1 or Gen2).

Starting python ...
..
TypeError: coercing to Unicode: need string or buffer, NoneType found

If i install the same way in a VM Ware Workstation 15 Guest, all is fine, no Problems at all.
VMWare sets the VM with a Legacy BIOS.

The only way to get OpenEMM up and running is to rsync from the VirtualBox OVA Image to a minimal CentOs 7 under Hyper-V (Gen2).

Can anyone explain this?
