ServletException in 'cms/cmt/cms-cmt-list.jsp': java.lang.Nu

On a fresh set up I get this error:

An error occurred
Cause: org.apache.jasper.JasperException: javax.servlet.ServletException: javax.servlet.jsp.JspException: ServletException in 'cms/cmt/cms-cmt-list.jsp': java.lang.NullPointerException


I at first thought this was because I am pulling in bits and pieces into my DB because my other setup was FUBAR.

So I said screw it and did another fresh fresh fresh set up following the guide and again i encounter the above error.

The set up seems legit , I am simply trying to experiment and play with opt in emails .
I am sure I can still blast out, I haven't reached that stage yet as Ive been de bugging this issue.

Ive checked and verified my emm.properties is configured correctly, even for kicks i replaced localhost in the content properties file ( cant remember off the top of my head )
Ive checked and verified my pointer in the DB.

Ive checked and verified my DNS settings.

BREAKING DEVELOPMENT

I decided to try out the other tabs , when I try to create a mailing I get this error :

(Access denied for user 'agnitas'@'localhost' to database 'openemm_cms')

I am going to look into this , I thought this thing connects under root .
Ill go poke around and correct this connection string .

And it might fix my original error . so BRB !

resolved , misconfiguration of CM DB.
