Split Testing

Post by oliver.hoerold »

Hi,

how about some "Split Testing" Feature? Or does this already exist?

We are using at the moment Interspire Emailmarketer and are looking for an opens-ource replacement.

What's Split Testing you ask?
"Find out which of your email campaigns performs the best based on open rates and click-thru rates with split testing.

You can even run a split test on a small portion of your list and send the winning email to the rest of your list automatically after a predefined period of time!

Unlike other email marketing software which limits you to A/B split testing, you can test unlimited variations in a single split test. "
This is how Interspire explains it.

Totally agree!

Split testing (or A/B Testing) is a standard feature in all commercial solutions. It works sending two versions (or three) of the emailing to a limited subgroup of users, it analizes the objective (click to a link, as an example) and selects the winner version to send to the rest of the list. All the process is automàtic.

It's a very convenient ans desirable feature for OpenEMM.

Well, it is in the commercial version of OpenEMM and we call it auto-optimization. We move features from commercial to open source from time to time, but, honestly, not this one in the near future. However, the plugin interface of OpenEMM 2012 will allow for third-party extensions. Maybe someone else will implement a split feature?
