Is it possible to embed Images instead of linking them back to the server?

inline HTML

Yes, this is what we call "Offline HTML". You can select this HTML version in via the mailtype field. The picture components tab in the mailing menu shows the available images and let you upload new ones.

Hi all,

using this "Offline HTML" doesn't work for me.

Here's my template:

Code: Select all

<html>
<style type="text/css">
<!--
body { width: 100%;	margin: 0; padding: 0; font: small normal Verdana,Arial,sans-serif;	text-align: center;	background: #fff top repeat-x;	}
#root { width: 632px; margin: 5px auto; margin-bottom: 0; text-align: left; border: 1px solid #c4c4c4; }
#header { border: 0; margin: 0;padding: 0; width: 632px; height: 150px; background: url([agnIMAGE name="header.gif"]) no-repeat; }
#main { border: 0; width: 632px; height: auto; text-align: center; overflow: auto; border-top: 1px solid #c4c4c4; padding-top: 10px; }
#content { border: 0; width: 632px; padding: 5px 0; margin: 0 auto; text-align: left; }
#footer { border: 0; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 632px; height: 180px; background: url([agnIMAGE name="footer.gif"]) bottom no-repeat; }
h1 {font: 14px Verdana,Arial,sans-serif; font-weight: bold; width: 612px; height:18px; maring: 0; padding: 26px 10px 2px 10px; color: #fff; background: #ff6600;}
h2 {font: 14px Verdana,Arial,sans-serif; font-weight: bold; width: 612px; height:18px; maring: 0; padding: 26px 10px 2px 10px; color: #fff; background: #8d8d8d;}
h3 {font: 14px Verdana,Arial,sans-serif; font-weight: bold; width: 612px; height:18px; maring: 0; padding: 26px 10px 2px 10px; color: #fff; background: #666;}
#content p { margin: 0px 5px 25px 5px; padding: 0; }
//-->
</style>
<head>
    <title>[agnDYN name="HTML_Title"/]</title>
   </head>
  <body>
    <div id="root">
      <div id="header">
      </div>
      <div id="main">
        <div id="content">
        [agnDYN name="HTML_Body"/]
        </div>
      </div>
      <div id="footer">
      </div>
    </div>
  </body>
</html>

When using OFFLINE HTML, the images are still linked to the server url.
like http://server:8080/image?ci=1&mi=7&name=header.gif

I'm wondering, some newsletter are using a img tag like this:

<img src=3D"url_to_image">

Does somebody know, what this 3D means?

thanks a lot!
cheers

It seems, that CSS doesn't work for offline HTML.

Also by integrating the CSS style in the corresponding HTML tags, the CSS style isn't shown before clicking on "show html content" or similar...

I changed my template to a table layout and integrated the images via <img src...>. Now they're shown in the offline html. But at least, I'd like to use the H1 and P styles.....

Are their any workarounds for realizing this?

Offline HTML

I just checked Offline HTML format, testing with the OpenEMM newsletter:

1. Check you css styles. Ours are located in the header section and look like this:

Code: Select all

<style type=3D"text/css">
<!--
p, td { font-family: Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 12px; line-height: 15px; font-weight: normal; text-align: left; color: #000000; text-decoration: none; padding: 0px; margin: 0px; }
h1 { font-family: Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 16px; font-weight: bold; color: #FFFFFF; background-color: #70A0D0; padding: 3px; margin: 10px 0px 5px 0px; }
h2 { font-family: Verdana, Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 16px; font-weight: bold; color: #3974AF; margin: 10px 0px 5px 0px; }
p.smallblk { font-size: 11px; line-height: 13px; }
p.smallgry { font-size: 10px; line-height: 11px; color: #999999; padding:  3px; }
hr { background-color: #2A5682; height: 1px; border: 0px; width: 100%; }
-->
</style>
2. Make sure that path and content of images at tab "picture component" are correct.

3. Send Offline HTML newsletter

4. Look at the source code of your newsletter and you will see an image reference like

Code: Select all

<img src=3D"http://www.openemm.org/fileadmin/images/openemm.gif" width=3D="79" height=3D"79" align=3D"right" />
5. but also the image included in special encoding format at the end:

Code: Select all

Content-Type: image/gif
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
Content-Location: http://www.openemm.org/fileadmin/images/openemm.gif

Hello,

the problem was, that OpenEMM can't include images or other media files in the newsletter while using CSS as reference to the file.

for example:

Code: Select all

#main { background: url([agnIMAGE name="bg.gif"]); }
won't be included in the offline HTML version.

But if you use something like

Code: Select all

<img src="[agnIMAGE name="bg.gif"]">
The image is included.

Now I'm using a table layout instead of using DIVs (with images integrated by css). The only thing I still don't know how to realize is, to get a custom image for the list-style-image (ULs).

Thank you very much for your help.

cheers
Ronny
