Using campaign manager with AB Test

Post by rodig03 »

Hi,

I tried to follow the manual to create a AB test using the campaign manager.
In the manual, a template is mentioned, but it seems to be missing from the OpenEMM 2019. I tried to build the campaign manually according to the manual, but the systems doesn't stop complaining about the "decision" mailing icon. If I leave it open, it claims it has to be defined. If I choose A or B, the system complains that each mailing can be used only once.
So what is it I am missing in understanding this feature?
Thanks a lot!

Just a clarification: the decision icon seems to be working, but the "empty" mailing that should be filled by the decision cannot be left empty and cannot be filled with one of the 2 maiings used for A or B test.

I see, the doc was a little bit premature. We will release the full feature with OpenEMM 20.04, coming next month.

Cool. I can barely wait to see it doing its magic!

I now did it manually, using the split list function and the statistics compare view.

I tried to use the birthday campaign wizard.
Seems to a bit more complex to set up than just target groups.
Is the only benefit using it in OpenEMM that it is easier to understand from a non technical person?
Without being able to measure the results, campains are not easy to evaluate and seem to have limited value without the campaign reporting that is limited to EMM? Are the statistics inside the campaign the method you would recommend ?
Thanks

Robert
