Using Cyrillic/Arabic characters in Module Editor

Post by Domino » Thu Feb 14, 2013 4:17 pm

Hi everybody,

We've been trying - without much luck so far - to get the module / module type editor to accept cyrillic or arabic characters. Pasting, e.g. Нам важно Ваше мнение into the editor window seems to work just fine at first, but when checking the preview mode all those characters get converted into question marks.

Pasting the cyrillic text into the source code using the HTML editor seems to do the trick. However, since we need to work with a lot of placeholders in our newsletters, this isn't a very pleasant alternative, so a solution for using the module editor would be very much appreciated.
We've been trying this with Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer, so our best guess is that it's unlikely to be a browser issue.

The forum saearch returned ... ril*#p3500 as a possible solution - unfortunately, in our case that didn't help, as those settings are already active on our installation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Kind Regards
