Error when trying to import a list in to OpenEMM 2011

Post by marks »

Hello,

I have installed OpenEMM 2011 on to Ubuntu Server to test. We currently use OpenEMM 6.2 on another server, and I have exported recepients from the old system. When I try and import in to OpenEMM 2011, I get the following error message:-

"A general error occurred. Please check your input."

It's strange, as the OpenEMM 2011 system shows a preview of the list (the columns etc), but just does not want to import.

Has any one got any ideas as how to get round this?

Thanks very much.

Hi Maschoff,

Sorry, I am new to Tomcat. I have found the logs in /opt/openemm/apache-tomcat-6.0.32/logs, but there is nothing logged for Friday, which is when I tried to upload the list.

Am I looking in the right place?

Thanks

No. Please have a look at /home/openemm/logs/.

Hi Maschoff,
Thanks very much.
I have taken a look, and found that it was having problems importing some columns. Have adjusted the CSV file, and I have now imported.
Thanks for your quick reply.

Nevertheless, since message "A general error occured" is rather unspecific it would be helpful for us to know the kind of problem in your CSV file which caused this error because we would like to catch it in later versions and display a more helpful error message for the user.
