How to configure SMTP-Login (User, Password, etc.)?

Post by mykp »

Hi,
we have installed the new .OVA file (thanks for setting it up) and I understand
now that we're "facing" postifx being used in CentOS as MTA
Now, where do we set up the server which is accepting the mails?
In our case we want our local openEMM to send all mails via
Domainfactory and thus we need to enter the server, the
user, the password, etc.?

Best regards
Klaus-Peter

Hello - I am new to OpenEMM so, I cannot provide you any assistance with this issue; at this time.
Out of curiosity are you running the OVA on VMWare EXSi 6.x or Virtualbox?
Asking because WMWare ESXi 6.5.x is the platform in place at my company and I am most interested in running the OVA build of OpenEMM.

Thank you,

Hi Ray,
yes, exactly. The newest OVA does work fine now, but the
setup process is not really meant for Linux newbies.

Thank you,

Are you successfully running the OVA on ESXi 6.5? or VirtualBox?

Hi,
we use ESXi 6.7

The OVA contains CentOS and thus you'll run "postfix".

But it's puzzling me, where/how to set up which servers are being
used to send out / collect mails.
To my understanding: We run openEMM locally, so I'd use the online
facilities of our domain hosting company to send out the mails.
So obviously openEMM has to login in there and hand over
the mails.

Or do I understand the concept incorrectly? Does anybody know
where to enter these data?

Best regards

Hello Klaus, maybe you can try with a smart host postfix, like this tutorial
http://www.tuxfixer.com/configure-postf ... -centos-8/
Basically you have to install a plugin to login, edit your /etc/postfix/main.cf then reload the service.
