Setting Webservices User Account for Openemm 2019

Post by RobertHenke »

Hi,
I could not find the instructions to create the webservices user for OpenEmm 2019. Since the version 2015 you seem to have changed to an encrypted password, so the insert into the database doesn't work anymore. What encryption do you use? Or better, what command to use?

Version Info:
================================
= OpenEMM Installer v19.10.001 =
================================
Host: XXXXX
Runtime Version: 19.10.009.016
Manual Version: Unknown
OpenEMM Version: 19.10.000.133
System-Url: https://XXXXXXXXXXX
OpenEMMBackend Version: 19.10.000.128

Current menu: Configure basic environment (Java, Tomcat, Wkhtml)

Current webapp basic configuration:
JAVA_HOME: /usr/lib/jvm/java-1.8.0-openjdk-1.8.0.242.b08-0.el7_7.x86_64
CATALINA_HOME: /home/openemm/opt/tomcat
WKHTMLTOPDF: /usr/local/bin/wkhtmltopdf
WKHTMLTOIMAGE: /usr/local/bin/wkhtmltoimage

Thank you and best regards,

Robert

You can define webservice users in the GUI of EMM now.

Thanks - I found it. I suggest to clarify the wording - "Please create the web services users in the web interface in the user management - there is a tab to create web service users".
Sounds too easy, but I was updating my install document from the 2013 and 2015 versions and I did not expect and see that tab. Sorry.
