Java 6 support yet?

Post by tommygunner »

I installed JDK 6 but it says in the Install Guide that this is not supported currently. I'm wondering if this has changed.

We have not tried yet, but OpenEMM should run with Java 6. Why don't you check it and report the result back here for everybody? :-)

We are using:

CentOS 4.5
Sendmail 8.13.1-3.2.el4
MySQL: 4.1.20 (Redhat's distribution)
JDK: 1.6.0_01
Python 2.3.4

with little trouble.

Thanks, Dabbler! Hope your trouble will be reduced with 5.1.1 we released yesterday.

Java 6 or Java 5??

Post by scardin »

I have been trying to install OpenEMM for Windows all day and keep receiving the same message when I try to log-on my local machine:

500 Servlet Exception

WEB-INF/web.xml:29: java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError:
org/agnitas/web/filter/CharacterEncodingFilter
(Unsupported major.minor version 49.0)

After reading this thread I thought the probloem was I had installed JDK 6 (as recommended on the Windows install guide in txt) instead of JDK 5.

So I removed JDK 6 and installed JDK 5, but I still get the same error message. Any idea???

Thanks

Nicola
