Quick Upgrade Guide OpenEMM 6.2->2011 on Ubuntu 10.04LTS

Post by posbis »

Hi folks

Does anyone have a quick upgrade guide such as the one for RedHat found in the "Readme.txt".

I have an Ubuntu 10.04 system running OpenEMM 6.2 latest and want to upgrade it to OpenEmm 2011.

- Java 6 is already installed on the system
- OpenEmm 6.2 installed and running fine on port 8080 (We do port translation on the firewall 80->8080)
- Sendmail is used with SmartHost configured

What is the easiest and savest way to migrate the existing installation/configuration so that I have all my Mailings, Mailing Lists,
Recipients, ... in the new system ?

Regards,
Oliver

Why don't you read the OpenEMM Install Guide? It covers Ubuntu as well.

I indeed dit but found the instructions there more an INSTALL guide than a migration guide.
Or is there no real migration? Must I install a new instance and do all the customization I
have done to 6.2 again for OpenEmm 2011?

But you have to make a fresh installation of OpenEMM 2011, anyway. Configuration except for your changes in files emm.properties in cms.properties is NOT necessary, since all config parameters are stored in the database.
