ERROR: Resource key "null" not found in default bu

Post by Enrico »

Hello Forum,

after upgrading OpenEMM to the latest Version 6.0 we have a problem with sending mailings.

First of all, after uploading the content (hmtl and text), HTML-Preview is blank.

Text-Preview reproduces the OpenEMM cms in the preview window, where the Error message:

"ERROR: Resource key "null" not found in default bundle"

is displayed on top.

Test-Mails are produced but not sended.

In 2 Logfiles we found this error output:

20091221-mailserver-mailgun.log:

Any clue where the problem is?

Thanks,

We are experiencing the exact same behaviour at least regarding the HTML and TEXT preview. Either blank preview page (HTML) or

Text-Preview reproduces the OpenEMM cms in the preview window, where the Error message:

"ERROR: Resource key "null" not found in default bundle"

is displayed on top.

Additionally each time I press the Preview Button i get the following message in

/home/openemm/var/log/20100106-annaka-preview.log

Code: Select all

[06.01.2010 15:52:35] INFO/stat: Mailing cache: 0, Page cache: 0
[06.01.2010 15:52:35] INFO/create: Found error for 27/3: java.lang.Exception: Execution of /home/openemm/bin/xmlback -r -vql -E /tmp/error41268.tmp -o preview:path=/tmp/preview41267.xml /home/openemm/var/spool/META/AgnMail=D20100106155235=1=27=00001=liaMngA.xml.gz failed: java.lang.Exception: command returns 136
com.caucho.xml.XmlParseException: file:/tmp/preview41267.xml:1: XML file has no top-element. All well-formed XML files have a single top-level element.

As far as I can see the xmlback binary throws a "Floating point exception".

And bav as well has its problems:

Code: Select all

annaka:/home/openemm/bin# ./bav
./bav: /lib/tls/i686/cmov/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.4' not found (required by ./bav)

System information (Debian etch):

Code: Select all

annaka:/home/openemm/bin# java -version
java version "1.6.0_07"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_07-b06)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 10.0-b23, mixed mode, sharing)
annaka:/home/openemm/bin# uname -a
Linux annaka 2.6.18-6-686 #1 SMP Thu Nov 5 16:28:13 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux
Hope this will be fixed soon otherwise we must go back to 5.5.1.

(Fortunately we are running in a VMWare with snapshot, so we can switch between the old version and 6.0.1.)

Solved the problem...

Most of the problems above come from the fact that "Debian Etch" is simply to old and is missing certain components such as GLIBC 2.4, libxml2, ...

Some of these components can be installed (e.g. libxml2) safely but others such as GLIBC 2.4 simply don't exist or you have to go "unstable" with your distro.

At the end I found a great article on how to do an in-place upgrade from Etch to Lenny.

http://www.debianadmin.com/howto-upgrad ... ny-50.html

This took around 20 minutes and the system has become a Lenny

It worked like a charm.

All problems such as blank preview or sending emails are gone.

Make sure you have a backup of your system (we created a snapshot of our VM).

I experienced exactly the same problem. I fixed it by downloading the source distribution and compiling only xmlback.

Code: Select all

cd OpenEMM-6.0.1-src/src/c/xmlback/
make
install unmet dependencies (try libxml[12](-dev), libslang1(-dev), libslang2 on debian), rinse, repeat

When it finally builds, replace the old xmlback with the binary you just created.

I know this is an older thread, but it does come up in google searches for the bug.

I have found that on OpenSUSE 11.3 in addition to all the other required packages, you also need to install "lixml2-32bit". The manual says to only install "libxml2", but that is not sufficient. I assume this is a problem on x64 installations and most likely would no show up on very old machines.

Thanks for your hint! I will consider it for the next release of the OpenEMM Install Guide.
