So after ~720 tries the files just got deleted from the mail queue and no sign of a bounce in the statistics :-(. Mail to john.doe@example.com with Mailgun not bouncing
In order to test bounces, I have sent some mail to john.doe@example.com with OpenEMM (I use the internal SMTP server, not sendmail). The mail remains in the var/spool/QUEUE directory for quite some time and the qf*-files have information like: K1274382497 M[412] Failed to resolve domain example.com ...
