Thanks ma, yes, I did find it after I posted the original. So from that can I assume that on a "lean" server (it's will be a dedicated box doing nothing else that OpenEMM) with 2G of RAM then we can handle several hundred thousand email addresses? I have it running on a Virtual Machine cur...

OpenEMM Scaling and Memory?

HI, are there any details about the scale of OpenEMM with regards to size of database and RAM needs etc? I have noticed this thread http://www.openemm.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=865 But it doesn't give any parameters. I am interested in specifying a new dedicated VM for up to several hundred thousan...

We manage our own servers (running Linux) provided by a hosting arrangement. So we have full (root) access to our machines. We have sendmail and OpenEMM running on Ubuntu 8.04 server. This provides our email services and other facilities too. An ISP tends not to offer you this level of access. OpenE...

Ahhh - you mean like they'd have thousands of pages of information to view?

That makes sense.

Thanks

Is there a "good" reason why the user detail information is not displayed in the admin system?

I think that in Germany there are some quite heavy restrictions on personal information such as this so maybe it is a legal rather than a technical issue?

Just curious...

I am still a confused as to the next step. Am I correct in assuming that the OpenEMM program runs from my stand alone computer and tha...

I just tried this.

In Firefox 3 it is fine on Windows and Linux.

In IE6 and IE7 the wizard button doesn't work.

Salutations and GENDER

Hi, I think that the Salutations settings are not very intuitive and I don't really see why they should be linked to gender. For example, here in the UK we typically would use one the following forms of salutation. Mr. (Male) Mrs. (Married Female) Miss. (Unmarried Female) Ms. (Female) Dr. (Doctor) P...

Do you have Bash?

Firstly do you actually have Bash on your system and is it the default shell? Many systems use "sh" which is not quite the same. Also, the ^M is a bit worrying. That looks to me like you have Windows line termination characters in your scripts. I'm not sure if this will cause a problem but...

with the GetArchiveMailing bean commented out of applicationContext.xml the startup log failed because it couldn't find the mysql jdbc. It was in the WEB-INF/lib directory, but I read somewhere it should be in common/lib. When I move it there, OpenEMM ALMOST starts. It is is so close... Oct 20 22:12...

Getting Closer

Hi, it is looking better but not quite there. There is something going on with log4j. If I leave the log4j jar file in webapps/openemm/WEB-INF/lib/ I get the following error: Oct 20 21:43:35 hardy-server jsvc.exec[6931]: 20-Oct-2008 21:43:35 org.apache.catalina.core.AprLifecycleListener lifecycleEve...

Hi there,

I think this is what you need:

http://www.caucho.com/resin-3.0/perform ... tuning.xtp

I think you need to see the httpd.sh script in bin/scripts for how to add the appropriate parameters to the JVM on startup.
