Re: install on Fedora 30

1. You should use CentOS, not Fedora, because the backend was compiled for RedHat/CentOS. 2. You should install both the openemm-backend and openemm-frontend packages. 3. Only after installation of the OpenEMM packages you should set the configuration parameters which have not been set by the instal...

Re: unable to install wkhtmltox

wkhtmltox is used to create good looking thumbnail images and PDF documents in the EMM GUI. If you do not provide this tool, the thumbnails and PDF documents can not be created.

We recommend to install OpenEMM 2019 on CentOS7. If you use a different platform, you may use Virtualbox as intermediate layer.

@sambrooks, which version of OpenEMM do you use and where exactly do you expect the sand date to be shown?

Re: OpenEMM-Application is NOT running

To me it looks like you did not execute all jobs described in the OpenEMM wiki in chapter "5 Configuration", section "OpenEMMInstaller", because the log shows that some configuration values like "system.url" are missing.

Re: OpenEMM-Application is NOT running

When you restart OpenEMM, check the log file catalina.out of Tomcat in /home/openemm/logs for error messages.

If Tomcat fails to start OpenEMM properly, you can not access the login page.

Re: Empty Database after installing OpenEMM 2019

It is ok that most table are empty initially. Does file dbcfg exist in ~/etc with correct values? Check Tomcat's log catalina.out for any error messages at startup time. If there are error messages and it is not clear to you, what went wrong, post the messages here and provide the numbers of the run...

Re: Install OpenEMM 2019 on Debian

Publishing of source code is planned for end of June. Then we will take care of Suse. After that - depending on demand - Debian/Ubuntu. No guarantee, of course.

Re: Install OpenEMM 2019 on Debian

We recommend to use VirtualBox. As soon as the source code of the final version of OpenEMM 2019 is available, you can compile the backend code yourself. But some of the libs and packages needed by OpenEMM have different names with Debian. We (developers) ourselves have managed to make OpenEMM work o...

Re: Phyton 2.7 Support ends Dec. 2019

We are working on a migration from Python 2.7 to 3.x, which will be available with a new release of OpenEMM next year.

However, RedHat will support its Python 2 packages until June 2024, and we recommend to use these packages.
