I'm somewhat confused...Say if I want the redirection service to run on port 80, I set up the firewall rule to forward 80->8080. Please specify your OS and version of OpenEMM. We had a time-problem in versions prior 5.0.1.

If your version is < 5.0.1, please upgrade to 5.0.1.

Make sure to use

su - openemm

The '-' is needed to use openemm's .bash_profile, which specifies the required environment variables.

Alternately you can specifiy the variables by hand, as stated above by Chris ;-)

Right now, only Sendmail is supported as MTA.

Anyway, there are intentions to port OpenEMM to other MTAs, like Postfix. See the link http://www.openemm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2
