I think the email rate depends on the server you're on and how much of the hardware you're allowed to use on it if you're a virtual user. I haven't used OpenEMM on a virtual hosting account so I'm not the best one to answer the question. I really don't know if you'll be able to use OpenEMM on a $16...

Thanks Jim for your information! As, right now, I am just looking for a place to have a test try on OpenEMM, and not like you already have steady business to support US$100/mth, so... do you have any rough guest on the emails rate, e.g. 5000 emails/24hr ??, if the "VDS Start" (US$16/month)...

Criteria required for successful install in webhosted space?

Dear all, Though the official OpenEMM document state that we need root access to install OpenEMM, but is it possible to re-package OpenEMM so that it can be installed in a hosted environment? As I know, we can still run scheduled shell commands through the "Cron job commands" of cpanel, we...

Thanks Jim for your information!

By the way, are you using hosted VPS (Virtual Private Server) service?

Or you setup OpenEMM in your own home server, and send out emails through ISP's internet connection?

Thanks!

Possible to set Scheduled Batches of emails with pauses?

Dear all,

Sending emails in a large batch, e.g. 10000 emails at a time, may not be possible for a low power computer, so how to setup OpenEMM for scheduling 25 batches of 400emails, with a pause time of, say 5 minutes, between each batch of emails?

Any help are welcomed!

Thanks!

Re: OpenEMM hosting

You need a dedicated or at least virtual root server. Best OS choice is RHEL compatible CentOS because you can use the RPM package, but Suse/OpenSuse works too (choose tarball). Some users even operate OpenEMM on Debian. Is VPS (virtual private server) also good for OpenEMM? Is there anyone used th...
