Can't enable "Show in Archive" after sending

Postby lord_alan » Fri Feb 05, 2010 1:03 pm

Just upgraded to 6.01. We used to only turn on archiving after it was sent.

In 6.01 the tick box is still enabled but there is no save button so we can't change that setting now.

I'll fix in the database for now, but I guess this is a bug?

TIA

I am not sure I understand what you are talking about ... (archiving? tick box?)

See the image here: http://imagebin.org/83543

On each individual mailing's first configuration page there is a checkbox which says "Show in Archive".

In 6.01 although the checkbox itself can be checked or unchecked, once the mailing has been sent, there is no "save" button so the status cannot be changed from the condition it was in before sending.

I am sure in 5.5.1. I used to enable "Show in Archive" only after sending because mailings were showing in our public archive list (http://www.theopenlearningcentre.com/resources/newsletter-archive) even before they had been sent.

Does that make more sense?

Absolutely! We disabled saving of sent mails to preserve "history" and to prevent accidental changes to an old mailing. However, the "show in archive" checkbox should work after sending. I added it to our bug tracker:

Great!

Thanks for the info. I thought I was going bonkers for a minute...

It's quite easy to work around it in the database for now.

Cheers
